Privacy notice
Learning data deserves thoughtful care.
This notice explains the information Study with Tino uses, why it is needed, who supports processing, and the controls available to account holders.
Version 2026-07-11Information we collect
We collect account identity details, learner profile information, guardian relationships, study conversations, quiz and flashcard activity, subscription and payment status, device/session security information, consent records and support or audit events. National ID and phone details are used to enforce one verified identity per account.
How information is used
Information is used to provide and secure accounts, personalise learning, retrieve approved study sources, generate practice, measure progress, manage subscriptions, prevent abuse, support families and operate the platform.
AI tutoring and learning sources
Tino may send a learner question and selected approved source excerpts to a configured AI provider. Provider prompts are not stored in the platform's provider-call log, although the learner's conversation remains in their account. Tino can fall back to local source guidance when a provider is disabled or over budget.
Payments and service providers
Payment initiation and verification are handled server-side through Paynow. We may use private hosting, email, object storage, monitoring and AI providers as processors. Only information needed for each service should be shared, and production providers must be covered by appropriate agreements.
Children and guardian authority
A parent, guardian or otherwise authorised adult must approve creation and use of a learner account where required. Guardian progress access is not enabled until the learner approves the link. The platform should not be used to submit unnecessary sensitive child information in tutor chat.
Retention, exports and deletion
Account holders can request a private data export and schedule deletion from Account. Exports expire automatically. Deletion has a cancellation window, removes learning data and anonymises the account; limited transaction and audit records may be retained where required for security, disputes, accounting or law.
Security and your choices
We use password hashing, short-lived access tokens, rotating refresh sessions, role checks, private storage, audit events and encrypted transport in production. You can review devices, revoke sessions, update details, export data, cancel a pending deletion or contact TjTech about access and correction.
Contact
Privacy questions and account requests can be sent to privacy@tjtech.co.zw. Include only the minimum information needed to identify the account; never email a password, payment key or identity-document image.
